All About Me

Dr. Samantha Scott-O'Bannon ("Dr. Sam") was formally trained at some of the top hospitals on the West Coast (United States), including UCLA, Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), and Loma Linda, and is currently pursuing board certification. In addition to focused training in brain and behavior relationships, Dr. Sam has extensive experience and training in several therapeutic interventions and approaches. As a Bermudian, she is elated to introduce the Neuropsychology specialty to her island and provide comprehensive and targeted assessments; ultimately reducing the need for locals to travel abroad to receive these specialized services.

Dr. Sam was born in Bermuda and graduated head-girl from Bermuda Institute. She completed her post-secondary education at Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama, before accepting a position to conduct psychological and neurological research at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She later attended Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia, before completing both her Master's and her Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from Loma Linda, where she specialized in Neuropsychology. In pursuit of her doctorate, Dr. Sam helped to open and establish Sports Concussion Institute (Atlanta location), where she was responsible for conducting baseline assessments for student and professional athletes and contributing to the research used to form the Return to Play protocols for the NFL. Post-doctorally she participated in a two-year, full-time fellowship (following the Houston Guidelines) in pursuit of her specialty and has completed the requirements to identify herself as a Neuropsychologist.

From a young age, Dr. Sam had a passion for medical services on the island of Bermuda and was determined to contribute to the quality of health care available to her country. She is currently working in Bermuda and Los Angeles, California, as a Licensed Clinical Neuropsychologist with a clinical focus on the lifespan, with a specialty in pediatric populations. Specifically, Dr. Sam specializes in brain and behavior relationships and helps families and individuals determine the impact of brain injury or neurological and neurodevelopmental strengths, weaknesses, and trauma on their daily lives (e.g., school, work, and relationships).
